Brazil’s Ronaldinho Gaucho Confirms Retirement From Soccer And Plans Farewell

Ronaldinho Gaucho has announced his retirement from soccer at the age of 37. He played his last professional match in 2015 for Fluminense and has now made it official. His brother and agent, Roberto Assis, confirmed the news and also indicated that plans are afoot for a series of farewell events in Brazil, Europe, and Asia. Ronaldinho’s long-time sponsor, Nike, will be actively involved in the farewell tour. In 2008 Forbes listed Ronaldinho as 38th in its Celebrity 100 and estimated his annual income at $37M – $13M coming from Barcelona and the rest from sponsors such as Pepsi and Nike.
