L.A. Lakers DeMarcus Cousins Suffers Torn ACL

Los Angeles Lakers center DeMarcus Cousins has suffered a torn ACL.  On Thursday morning, it was reported that Cousins had suffered a possible knee injury during a workout earlier this week, having bumped knees with somebody else and needed to leave the court. Final tests are expected to confirm the ACL diagnosis.

The 29-year-old Cousins suffered a torn Achilles as a member of the New Orleans Pelicans in 2018, which resulted in a one-year, $5.3 million deal with the Golden State Warriors last summer. He worked hard to get back on the court, only to tear his quad right at the beginning of the playoffs.

Cousins then signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal to reunite with Anthony Davis on the Lakers. The four-time All-Star was expected to play a significant role, but now it appears he’s going to miss the entire 2019-20 season, or at least most of it.
